Our mission is to make a difference in the lives of Dominican children by providing education, spiritual guidance and the relieving of poverty. As a part of our spiritual guidance initiative, some of our students have taken part in Summer Camp Bible studies.
Providing Food and Essentials
For $400US, the Abundant Life Charity can provide the families of the Batay with meals for 2-3 days. For some, these are the only meals they are able to eat in a week. Our goal is to help these families do more than just survive.
In addition to our focus of providing education and support to the children of the Dominican, we are able to provide food for the families of the Batay (the sugar plantation workers). These families live in appalling conditions, in fact, it has been described as a modern form of slavery where Haitians are paid much less than is required to live for 12-14 hours of labor. They sleep on foam boards and live without electricity or running water.
The roads are primitive dirt roads that become muddy lakes when it rains, cutting off the Batay from the outside world (including food and water) for days at a time. Inside the Batay, education and healthcare are not provided by the government, making what we do even more critical.
Although reaching these people is essential, it is not easy. The sugar cane fields are full of thieves and make passing through the area a challenge. Pastor Gabi and the supporters of the Abundant Life Charity often put themselves at risk to provide the families of the Batay some much needed support.

Our goal is to help these families do more than just survive. To do that we need $1100US per week to feed them all well. We would also like to buy a bus so that we can get the children off the Batay for lessons and to see life outside of the sugar plantation.
When you contribute to the charity, 100% of the funds go directly to these people in need. You can learn more about how to set up monthly support by clicking the link. [LEARN MORE]
The Abundant Life Charity school was paid a visit by the Minister of Education. Just months after opening their doors, they are able to participate as one in only 5 schools to carry out the Community Satisfaction Survey for the school year.
The charity is dedicated to providing for the growing needs of education, spiritual direction, and the relief of poverty for the children of the Dominican Republic.
